‘Halloween’ earned $77.5 million over the weekend!

Michael Myers showed this weekend he can still get butts in the seats. Director David Gordon Green’s sequel to John Carpenter’s legendary original 1978 movie, which he penned with Danny McBride, brought in an estimated $77.5 million. That’s the biggest opening ever for the “Halloween” franchise and the best for any Blumhouse movie. “Halloween” is also the second-biggest opening weekend ever for an October release (just below the $80.2 million earned by “Venom” three weeks ago), and second-biggest opening ever for a horror movie. The first being Warner Bros.’ “It” in 2017 ($123.4 million). ‘Halloween’ earned $77.5 million over the weekend, the biggest opening ever for the franchise

https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/What-Happens-Original-Halloween-Movie-45387318Halloween is one of the most complicated franchises out there, so you’ll have to forgive me for breathing a sigh of relief when news broke that the latest movie would be a direct sequel to the original 1978 film. The new film, also simply titled Halloween, is asking audiences to forget the nine other sequels and reboots that came out between 1981 and 2009 — so no need to remember how many times homicidal maniac Michael Myers has “died” over the years. As we’ve seen in the trailer, Halloween picks up four decades after Laurie’s daring escape from the masked killer. If it’s been a while since you’ve seen the original, now is a perfect time to rewatch it. But if you don’t have the time, let me fill you in. Here’s a beat-for-beat recap of the 1978 horror classic. Every Important Detail You Need to Remember From the Original Halloween

51 Year Old Ben Lecomte’s 5,300-mile Pacific Swim

More than 1,200 miles from the coast of Japan, a 51-year-old Frenchman is swimming in the Pacific Ocean right now. Those are pretty much the only two activities Benoît Lecomte does these days, as he attempts to become the first person to successfully swim across the Pacific Ocean. “I wake up throughout the night because I’m hungry,” Lecomte told Business Insider by phone from the 20-meter sailboat, called Seeker, that’s traveling with him. Lecomte set out from Japan in June, and is making his way toward California. An eight-person crew is sailing along with him, collecting data about the health of both the ocean and Lecomte along the way. Their mission is far less concerned about crushing records than it is with breaking bad habits.

Saudi Royal, bin Salam in Talks to buy Manchester United for £4 Billion!

Most news outlets have dismissed claims MUFC will be bought by Saudi Royals. Despite this The Mirror states there is genuine interest which is not a problem for the prince who has an estimated net worth of £850 billion, the majority of which comes from oil.

Saudi money has already made a difference to British football. Look at Manchester City.

Reporters will be weary about reporting in a negative light since Saudi Arabia is facing very difficult questions relating to the death of Jamal Khashoggi, a critic of the crown prince. The journalist disappeared and was last seen entering the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul in early October.

The country’s state TV has announced the journalist died in a “fist fight” inside the embassy. This follows two weeks of denials that Saudi Arabia had any involvement in his disappearance.

The Mirror newspaper points out that the current owners of MUFC, the Glazer family, will no doubt want this situation to play out before they enter into any further discussions.

It’s mixed opinions on social media.

The Guardian reported recently that the Glazer family had drained £1 billion from the club in interest, fees, dividends and other costs since they became owners over 13 years ago.

Some fans are hopeful a cash injection can buy them trophies. Other fans do not welcome the news.
